Call For Help 01-03-2000
Chris Pirillo's first appearance on Tech TV
Well I went ahead and purchased a Mac Pro....I am a Microsoft whore so this is quite unusual.
I did some video editing a while back and my 3+ Ghz 2G RAM Windows XP PC ran so bad during the rendering and editing (locking up several times using Adobe Premier)that I had finally had enough.
I have a very trusted acquaintance that said I would never have those issues on a Mac so I, after a year or so, relented. I wanted the top of then line though and settled on the Mac Pro.
After a day of frustration installing Windows XP Media Edition using bootcamp I am finally up and running. Mac OS on one partition and XP on another.......it takes under 60 seconds to boot up (something I am not used to)and so far it runs like a locomotive.
Now to put it to the real test...........details to follow......

Lets get into a discussion on digital distribution. Ever since Apple launched the iTunes store Apple has set a standard on how e-commerce is done. Since then Microsoft has followed suit with their Xbox Live Marketplace which both Apple and Microsoft have done extremely well for themselves, also Sony and Nintendo have a similar system as well. My question is will you stick to your DVD's or get with the "now" with digital products. I'm on the fence on this matter. I like for the fact that I can download a video game or movie/tv program without getting up and driving to my nearest Best Buy, when I can sit on my sofa and purchase anytime I please, 24 hours a day. The downside is that some services like Microsoft's Xbox Live has made it that you need to be online to play the game like Valves Steam. For videos, people like myself want a physical copy with me so I can take it anywhere and just pop it that DVD. So what are your thoughts on this subject?

If you loved Tech TV and Call For Help you gotta watch.
